“The Food 4 Thought initiative provides a fun and unique way of allowing people to engage with the food-bank.” Reason – who has promoted the well-received Hit ‘N Run parties for over 9 years – believes, for the right cause, Manchester artists are happy to play for free.Ī spokesperson for Manchester Central Foodbank said: “December is a very busy period for our foodbank, so the event will come at great time for us. Reason explained: “Even people who weren’t au fait with the music brought donations down because the idea intrigued them.” The first Food 4 Thought – held in May at Antwerp Mansion, Rusholme – raised over £1500 and half a tonne in food donations. The night is the brainchild of DJ and LEVELZ manager Richard Reason, of Old Trafford, who is adamant more needs to be done to help Manchester’s most needy. Manchester rap-collective LEVELZ host Food 4 Thought at FAC251 tonight – a showcase of Manchester’s DJ and MC talent designed to raise donations for Manchester Central Foodbanks.
